*THE FIRST HALF OF A DUETT*
A redhead in a stolen dress and all her possessions at her feet is never a good sign.
When she blew smoke and sin into my bar and then challenged me to a game, I should have known she was trouble.
In the end, she may have gotten my watch, but she also started a war.
She happily exclaimed, "I'm the luckiest girl in the world as I slip my Breitling off my wrist and onto my own."
I guess everyone got lucky except for me.
When her soiled shoes stomped up my spine from the bottom of the stairs, my entire world began to fall apart.
The charm of my cashmere sweater is starting to wrinkle.
My chivalrous mask is beginning to crumble.
My assailants are getting closer.
Perhaps there was some truth to what the gipsy said:
If I don't stop the Queen of Hearts, she'll drag me to the underworld.
At least in the middle of the fire, you'll feel nice and toasty.
SLOW-BURNING ROMANCE AMONG THE DARK MAFIA; AGE DIFFERENCE; OPPOSITES; AND ENEMIES

NOTES FROM SOMM:
Due to the nature of a two-part series, Sinners Condemned ends on a cliffhanger. In Sinners Consumed, available on September 7, we'll see where Rafe and Penny's story goes next.
I recommend starting with Sinners Anonymous and moving on to Sinners Condemned from there.
My stories, including this one, aren't for the weak of heart, and you should know that going in. Not everyone should read them because of the multiple triggers they contain.
About the Author
Somme Sketcher is the author of engrossing but dangerous dark romance. Plunge into the morally ambiguous underworld, where sinners masquerade as saints and villains as heroes.
Why You Should read this Book?
Despite my assumption that the author may have been influenced by the Made series, I find that I enjoy reading it quite a bit. Also, if you've read the first book, you know that this one is superior; Rafe Penny > Angelo Rory. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that Gabe Wren > Rafe Penny > Angelo Rory.
Go read it if you're interested in a story about a fiery heroine and a hero with an obsession. Rafe and Penny had the most perfect chemistry for their witty repartee. Their games are hilarious, and I especially enjoyed the car scene and other instances of Refe's uncontrollable horniness around Penny, especially his fixation on her thighs.
I'm glad to report that there have been some encouraging exchanges between Gabe and Wren recently. Love to read and eagerly anticipate their works (they are getting a duet too).
Book Summary
In this world, Rafe and Penny are indispensable. If you enjoyed Danielle Lori's The Made Men Series, you'll enjoy this. It was even better than I expected, and that's saying a lot given how much I adore The Made Men. Even if you didn't like the first book, you'll probably like this one.
Rafe, Angelo's brother, and Penny, Rory's friend from Atlantic City, both return to Devil's Cove after the events of the novel. Since the death of her parents, Penny has been on her own, and to get by she has resorted to swindling wealthy men. There's no denying the attraction (and fear) she feels for Rafe when she runs into him one night while trying to con him out of his expensive watch. Their relationship progresses after she is hired by one of his casinos.
So this is your regular The MMC initially denies his feelings for the FMC, but later comes to terms with the fact that he is obsessed with her. Rafe pretends he doesn't like her, but he secretly can't help but admit that Penny is his downfall. This book was written brilliantly, and the tension between them was excellent throughout. The amount of playful banter between them had me grinning and giggling. Penny has a lot of courage and isn't afraid to speak her mind. I adore her vibrant personality and how perfectly she complements Rafe. Rory's relationship with the Visconti family and the brief glimpses we get of him and Angelo are also fascinating. If you didn't enjoy the first book, I think you should give this one a shot because it picks up a lot faster.
I have to know what happens next in Rafe and Penny's story, and I can't do that until I read Sinners Consumed. My favourite elements of a good trope were all present here. Read this series, like, right now.
